1680 - onwards

Due to the brutal politics of re-nationalisation, the population of the 16th century finds itself in cultural poverty. Stockholm breaks all treaties and agreements from March 1658 onwards. Swedish maps before 1720 name the provinces of Skåne, Halland and Blekinge "Scania" (Skåneland). After 1720, the area is re-named and from then on called Southern Götaland.
