Scania
A Region in Europe

The Scanian history in a nutshell
The Iron Curtain
|
 |
1680 - 1844
Karl XI turns the Sound into an "iron curtain", and in 1684
forbids printing and import of Danish (Scanian) books. Trade
and westward contacts were prohibited. Those who attempted to get
in touch with Denmark risk their lives. The "iron curtain" is
in function until 1844, and during this long period of time,
cultural darkness descends upon Scania.
