A Region in Europe

The Scanian history in a nutshell
The Reformation
|
 |
1524 - 1533
The Reformation reached Scania in the 1520's. Scania has its
own reformers, such as Hans Mikkelsen, who translated the New
Testament from Latin in 1524, and Christian Pedersen in Malmö,
who also translated a series of writings into the Öresund-Scanian
language. Pedersen is called "the father of Danish literature".
In 1528, Claus Mortensen, published the first Danish hymn book
called "Malmø-Salme-bogen".
