The Scanian history in a nutshell The Nordic Union
1397 - 1523
In 1387, the Scanian parliament elects Margarete Valdemarsdatter
to be the "almighty Wife and rightful husband" of Denmark. She
accepts the Scanian-Nordic union ideas, which are carried out
in Kalmar in 1397. She moves her household to Scania, from
where she rules the North.
