Four letters by SSF on the subject of regional languages. Over the years Stiftelsen Skånsk Framtid (SSF) has been engaged in the process of adjusting the Sweden’s political and administrative system to the European Union after Sweden became a member of the union on 1 January 1995. It is particular three areas in which SSF has been active:
During the public investigation period prior to the Riksdag (Sweden’s Parliament) took the decision to sign and ratify the Charter on Regional or Minority Languages, SSF submitted a number of documents to the Government’s Investigation Commission and concerned government ministers. The attached documents are the most important reports by SSF. It should be noted that not once have the Government or the Investigation Commission bothered to reply to any of the proposals, except in a few cases confirm receiving the mail or that the documents have been forwarded to other departments within the Government. Neither SSF nor any other Scanian NGO organisation were invited by the Government to participate in the process leading up the adoption by Sweden of the Charter on Regional or Minority Languages or the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities. © SSF
